More Space Please
We use our detailed briefing to get a clear idea of what you’re trying to address in your renovation. When we get to Concept Design we work through lots of different ideas and present you with the best ones. We catchup regularly to talk through them and get your feedback, which we roll into our next design ideas.
A Space For One’s Own
Part of our Align service package, this extension for the client’s daughter would support her at home, while providing the independence she required.
Courtyard House
This growing family wanted some more space and to make the most of their north facing garden. We worked with them on this renovation to get some nice north light in, and lots of connections to a comfortable Mt. Hawthorn courtyard
Get That Good North Light
Reimagining a family home in Hilton to deliver more space and functionality while retaining its unique character, Guide Architects is on an exciting journey with this family. The key to this design is forming a seamless connection to various courtyards and harnessing the power of natural light. Guided by the clients' desire for a 'natural', 'open to outdoors', and 'sustainable' space, we are navigating Hilton's planning restrictions, the site's irregular shape, and the house's non-ideal orientation. Through intensive collaboration and constant iteration of design models, we are turning challenges into opportunities - shaping an extension that brings the outside in, prioritizes passive solar design, and offers a living experience as distinctive as the site itself.
Light and Life
A young couple approached us to help reimagine their existing space, which was dominated by a 90's rear extension. This extension resulted in the kitchen being isolated, causing it to feel dark and detached. Additionally, an underutilised attic space stemming from the same extension led to a squat, dark living area.
